Beno-Therm cellulose insulation
Beno-Therm is made with one of the most recent technologies in recycling. Effectively, Beno-Therm is made from recycled paper fibers. Boric components are also included in the composition of the product to assure its fire resistance.
Loose cellulose
In addiction of being an insulation with a thermal performance over the average of the market, Beno-Therm cellulose insulation lowers the air leakage, infiltrating in the smallest interspaces, producing a homogeneous cushion without joints. The small size of the particles makes it a good product for the wall injection with the Beno-Mat technique as well as in the attics. When injected with a density of 3.0 pounds/cubic foot in the walls cavities, it gets the walls more airtight.

R Value
The Beno-Therm thermal and acoustical insulation offers one of the highest thermal performances on the market with an output of 3.8R/inch of thickness and a density of 1.6 pound per cubic foot.
The Canadian Model National Code of Energy for habitation recommends R-40 to R-50 in the attics depending on the region, witch represents a thickness of 10.8 to 13.5 inches of Beno-Therm cellulose insulation once crammed.

Fire Resistance
The laboratory tests results state that the Beno-Therm cellulose insulation procures an exceptional flame resistance and also proves that it is a non irritant product.
Beno-Therm is used extensively in many large construction projects not only as an insulation and acoustical material, but also as an excellent fire resistant agent. Regarding that, Beno-Therm meets the CAN/ULC-S730 standards as well as the American ASTM C739 standard.

Boric components, parasites and vermin
As a result of the boric compounds included in its formulation, Beno-Therm helps to prevent parasites and vermin intrusions. It has therefore gained considerable success in its applications in farm buildings.
Controlled PH
More over, in reason of its controlled PH, Beno-Therm is ideally suited for insulating steel-structure buildings where use of corrosive materials must be avoided. Entirely natural, the Beno-Therm insulation is eco friendly. Besides that, tests have demonstrated the total absence of gas emission.
Offer yourself the luxury of a comfortable home.
Warm in the winter, cool in the summer, soundproofed and economic!
Soundproofing properties
| Walls
The Beno-Therm cellulose insulation contains soundproofing properties and proven superior performance. Beno-Therm is injected at a 3.0 pounds density per cubic foot in party walls before they get closed. The injection is done through a ventilated membrane with the Beno-Mat injection method. The membrane is stapled to the frame.
Ceilings and floors
For the ceilings and floors, the density should be 2.5 pounds per cubic foot. In the case of the existing structures, the application is done directly through the gypsum walls, using holes of two inches diameter.

Tests and results
Based on tests done in laboratory and field conditions for various types of walls and floors constructions, Beno-Therm has consistently performed over the years better than other known fibres. Not only has it shown superior sound abatement properties, but it also filled cavities more effectively and proved safer for applicators.
Beno-Vent – Aeration vent
|
The aeration vent Beno-Vent is a cardboard pre folded used to prevent the discharge of insulation into the cornice. It is installed before the insulation.
Properties:
- A stopper for loose fill cellulose;
- Prevents the discharge of insulation into the cornice;
- Low cost;
- Folded to allow a space for ventilation;
- Easy to install with staples;
- Can be installed in all ventilated attics;
- Treated against humidity;
- Wavy cardboard of 50 thousandths inch.

| Installation: Beno-Mat Method and existing structures
Beno-Mat is the first dry injection system to be evaluated by the Canadian Construction Material Centre (CCMC report no.12307-R) for new constructions.
The Beno-Mat system was developed to quickly and efficiently install Beno-Therm. It includes a specially conceived membrane that ensures proper and constant density of insulating material in every section of wall.
Versatility
With the Beno-Mat system, thermal and soundproofing insulation can be installed on all types of surfaces: new or closed walls, 60º to 90º cavities and party walls. It can be used summer or winter, without danger of freezing.
The Beno-Mat installation must be executed by a Benolec accredited installer in accordance with the instructions included in the installation guide of the manufacturer. |
